Program Offerings:
Note: ALL programs are a 12-month program, September through August. The school year is September through June. We continue the educational Montessori classes through July & August, in addition to fun-filled summer activities and special guest speakers and presentations. If you do not continue through July & August, you risk CELC filling your space.
Pre-Primary Class

Our Pre-Primary Program allows children to explore the rich classroom environment, building speech and language skills, practical life skills, fine and gross motor skills, along with building knowledge and understanding in science, math and culture studies. The children are using all five sense to explore their environment and will eagerly absorb the facts presented to them. The child's individual personality is evolving and the child is emerging as a social being.
Parents shall provide: All diapers, wipes and diaper ointment (disposable diapers are required), a nutritious lunch and your child's favorite blanket and stuffed animal (please limit to one) for naptime.
CELC will provide 1% milk with lunch as well as a morning and afternoon snack both served with water. If your child is unable to drink milk water will be substituted.
Our TOILET LEARNING policy at CELC is you should be consistently working on toilet training your child at home, if not completely toilet trained. This includes teaching your child the independence needed such as:
Being able to easily pull their pants/underwear down and back up without adult assistance.
Sitting on the toilet without adult assistance (our toilets are child size for easy accessibility…at home please consider using a step stool to encourage independence and consistency at home)

PRIMARY 4-K CLASS
(3 1/2 years - 6 years/Kindergarten) *Move up ages may vary by several months. Please note that space is also a factor.
Our Primary Program is a traditional Montessori based classroom for children 3 through 6 years old, with the 5 basic areas of the classroom: Math, Language (including reading & writing), Practical Life, Sensorial and Cultural Studies (Science, Geography, Arts & Music). It is based on a sensible balance between freedom and structure specifically designed for the young child. It provides a pleasant environment with carefully devised materials that meet the child’s natural curiosity & needs. Our Montessori Directress (teacher) works with the children individually and in small groups at the child’s own pace.
This multi-age classroom--typically spanning 3 years--re-creates a family structure. Older students enjoy stature as mentors and role models and are able to perfect their skills by teaching the younger children, which also builds their self-esteem. A skill is never learned quite as well as when you teach another. The younger children feel supported and gain confidence about the challenges ahead as they begin to eagerly anticipate their own journey through the Montessori materials.
Parents shall provide: A nutritious lunch and your child's favorite blanket and stuffed animal (please limit to one) for a one-hour rest time.
CELC will provide 1% milk with lunch as well as a morning and afternoon snack both served with water. If your child is unable to drink milk water will be substituted.
Our TOILET policy for our Primary 4-K program is children MUST BE COMPLETELY TOILET INDEPENDENT and SELF-SUFFICIENT IN THE BATHROOM. THIS INCLUDES:
Pulling their own clothes down/up.
Getting on/off the toilet themselves (ours are child size).
Wiping themselves.
If an accident does occasionally occur, the child must be able to completely change themselves.
FIVE Full Days/week: (Monday-Friday) 7:00am-5:30pm
